Rim Joist

This was a badly rotted rim joist on a large deck. It happened to be the structural rim joist to which the outer ends of all the floor joists attached. In other words, it was holding the deck up. We were able to support the deck from underneath, replace the rim joist and reattach all the joists.

Perimeter Rebuild

Bedford, NH

This job started out as repairing part of the steps that had rotted out and become unsafe. What we found when we started disassembling them was that there was extensive rot damage to the deck itself. The fascia boards and rim joist all the way around one part of the deck were completely rotted. We replaced all of that, and we ended up rebuilding the stairs completely.
