Next Generation

Salem, NH

This remodel encompassed the entire first floor of this two story colonial in Salem, NH. All the popcorn ceilings throughout the entire first floor would be removed and replaced with new smooth ones. Significant electrical re-wiring would be done and flush-mount LED lighting would be built into all the rooms. The unused coat closet at the front door would be removed to open up the flow throughout the first floor. Significant re-routing of heating was needed due to the locations of baseboard registers that needed to be removed.

The cramped and dated 1970s kitchen was original to the home. Functional storage was minimal and the lighting was terrible. Our clients do a lot of entertaining and needed a large functional kitchen for preparing meals and hosting guests. They did not use the adjoining "formal" dining room and wanted to incorporate that space into the kitchen. They also wanted the windows at the rear of the dining room replaced with a sliding door for the upcoming deck. The laminate flooring throughout the entire first floor was new-ish so they wanted to keep it. We had to repair subfloors and seamlessly patch-in any areas where walls came out.

The kitchen was completed with beautiful Shaker style cabinets in two colors. Simple square-edge fascia and small profile crown moulding finished the cabinetry to the ceiling for that high-end touch. Our clients were heavily involved in the design of the kitchen and wanted an elegant but functional one-of-a-kind kitchen they could be proud to show off. They couldn't be happier with the result.
