We removed the existing windows in the dining room and added sliding doors with built-in blinds between the glass. We found that the existing header was inadequate and had already sagged well over an inch in the middle. We re-framed the opening and added an LVL header to keep the clearance height the same. Since this was a load-bearing wall, we had to build a temporary wall to carry the load above. (This was part of a much larger remodel project)
