Small Kitchen, Big Statement
Bedford, NH
The layout in this dated and deteriorating "builder grade" condo kitchen was functional for our gourmet cook client, but it wasn't exactly a dream kitchen. We gave this kitchen an elegant and timeless overhaul packed with details and features to make spending time here more enjoyable and efficient.
The thermofoil coating on these entry-level cabinets was peeling off and some of the doors didn't even stay closed!
In order to avoid having to pull up and redo the hardwood floor, the design kept the back of this framed half-wall in place.
Demo done. We would patch in the flooring where the end of the cabinet wall came out.
Demo done. The half-wall that's staying.
The green granite was replaced with beautiful quartz with 4" backsplash.
LED undercabinet lighting provides invaluable task lighting for a cook.
New counter depth fridge hugged by a full surround.
The appliance garage with built-in power outlet.
The in-cabinet lighting in the glass front upper cabinets displays family treasures.
We built a "leg" to meet up with the end of the 8' back panel covering the old half-wall. It's a striking visual detail.
Decorative panels adorn all the exposed sides of cabinetry. High-end detail.
This end cabinet has a live side panel that opens for items the homeowner can access from the dining area.
Pantry with ugly and clumsy wire shelving.
Custom maple pantry liner with adjustable shelving. This has become a signature offering of Image Contracting.
